Euphorbia Hybrid Crown of Thorns also known as Euphorbia x lomi the parents originated in Madagascar.
This Hybrid Supergrandiflora series were bred in Thailand by crossing Euphorbia lophogona with Euphorbia millii. The results ar an evergreen succulent shrub that grows 2 to 3 feet tall with spiny stems and pale green leaves . The flowers of the Hybrid Crown of Thorns appear in clusters at the tips of the branches . Each flower can be as large as 1 ½ inch in diameter , so the cluster is quite large as well as striking. Here in Santa Barbara CA. the Euphorbia x lomi flowers year round most abundantly in the spring.
