Dymondia margarite native to South Africa grow in tight mats 2 to 3 inches deep , spreads very slowly by offsets ,leaves are 1/8inch wide and 2 to 3 inches long , deep grayish green above and rolled at the edges to show cottony white undersides. Summer flowers are yellow 1 to 1 ½ inch wide daisy shaped and half buried in the foliage.
The Dymondia has a deep root system that gives the established plantings considerable tolerance to drought, a good ground cover for those difficult to irrigate places. Plant between paving blocks and stepping stones, in rock gardens, it can take light foot traffic.
We are offering 2 well established plants 3 to 4 inches wide , these could be divided to place between stepping stones or such to start your Dymondia as a ground cover.
